Ladner Legion, hugs and kisses on the cheek, Jack Wang, immaturity

Vanessa got on MSN to ask when I wanted to do bubble tea. Since she thought 6:30 was a good time, I didn’t mind. Then she threw the Ladner Legion in there for flavor; why not, for once? I had some dumplings before leaving, though. Turns out we didn’t have bubble tea, but McDonalds cheeseburgers and fries were cheap enough! Then we went to London Drugs and then the Ladner Legion, where the recently-engaged Jen and Wayne seemed to know EVERYONE who was playing pool. There were a LOT of jokes made at Vanessa’s expense because of her last name and the “Master Seaman” thing. I talked to Jen for a bit (she had a lot of rum and cokes / shots / tequila), met Wayne’s twin / Jen’s loud brother Ian (Vanessa thought he’d scare me by being boisterous – but I went with the hugs and kiss on the cheek and backrub – I don’t think he minded that I said “thanks, darling!” for the Hershey’s Kiss) / someone else who bantered with me about pillows and “ARE YOU DRUNK?!” / other people named Curtis and Jim. Talked about salad, beer, shitty movie nights, funerals, NYE, the Old Spaghetti Factory, hooker boots from Winners, work, injuries, friends, bipolar people / exes / ex-friends, Lynyrd Skynyd, rock music, hair appointments, “Jack Wang” and other “dirty” names, long colds, Boston Pizza, French onion soup, brain aneurysms, and more. It was pretty fun, and didn’t ruin my mood! 😀
